UL Develops Standards for Canada

The SCC or Standards Council of Canada has accredited UL as one of the two standards development organizations based outside of Canada. This will enable UL to create standards that are bi-national for our U.S to Canada market.

Chief Executive Officer of SCC John Walter has stated that "..the additional accredited standards will offer more standardization solutions to better serve Canadian government, industry and consumers."

UL Vice President of Standards Bob Williams, who has been developing accreditation under SCC since 1973, is excited to be working collaboratively with this powerful combination of experience and expertise.

Starting in 1903 with it's first standard, UL standards have been researching safety and sustainability. More than 1,000 standards are in UL's arsenal and helps to create a safer, more sustainable world.
